Rattan Care

Rattan is a type of palm that grows in the tropical regions of Africa, Asia and Australasia. All the rattan we source for Arche Living comes from Indonesia and is of the highest quality. Our rattan is incredibly strong and ages well. However, over time and with extensive use it is natural for rattan to fray. Rattan is not waterproof but if necessary, can be gently wiped down with cold water. All painted pieces are sealed with a protective coat for a lasting finish which enhances and protects the paint (to an extent) from water damage. Please note, over time the paint may wear thin. We recommend avoiding water contact with our hand painted pieces as much as possible.
