Founded by Hattie Gilbertson in 2020, Arche Living sources unique accessories and homeware made by highly skilled artisans. Reflecting Hattie’s love of natural pared back design and craftsmanship, the word ARCHE in ancient Greek philosophy refers to the principle element of a ‘thing’ – it’s timeless and immutable origin. It is also an acronym of her four best friends who remain a constant source of inspiration to her. 

Rattan

Each rattan product has been lovingly handmade by a collective of highly skilled female artisans who specialise in rattan production. Incredibly smooth and beautifully detailed, each piece takes 2-3 days to make and has been carefully crafted by plaiting together the finest rattan found in Borneo. The darker pieces of rattan have been naturally dyed with vegetable dye, indigenous to the Dayak people. Every piece and any pattern woven into the pieces holds symbolic meaning.  All hand painted artwork on the rattan has been designed by Hattie and hand painted in the UK by talented illustrators.
